A friend of ours, Pamela Brown-Peterside is spending 2 years (2006 to 2007) in rural southwest Uganda with World Harvest Mission helping to manage a program that prevents the transmission of HIV from mothers to children. Her role is to provide supervision and support to the Ministry of Health staff in 9 clinics across Bundibugyo district who implement this program. Originally from Nigeria, before heading to Uganda, Pamela lived in New York City, received graduate training in public health and then worked in HIV prevention for almost 10 years. She is a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church who supports her in this work.
On this website, Pamela will be posting monthly email updates, a Bundi byline column featuring her insights and impressions of life there, and news/prayer letters. She also has a brief video you can watch which explains more about her work in Uganda and a slideshow of photos from her first year there.
